One Day in Montreal: singer Jonathan Roy

The popular musician on where to eat and drink in Montreal

With over 200 million combined streams and YouTube views under his belt, Montreal-born artist Jonathan Roy has definitely staked his claim as one of the most captivating folks in the Canadian music scene over the past few years.

His latest album Life Distorions was released on February 3, 2023 and offers up eight tracks that tap into a mix of genres for an overall sound that is all Roy's own.

His Quebec winter tour kicks off this weekend, and come spring, the singer will embark on an 11-date European tour from May 7-19. All of this is to say that Canadians and Europeans alike can't get enough of his alt-pop-genre-bending music.

Being from Quebec, it's no surprise that he has come to love a quality meal. Here are Jonathan Roy's favourite places to eat and drink in Montreal.

Breakfast

Everything is good at Le Bistro Passe Compose, but I especially love the Panko French Toast.

I am a big Uniburger fan. It's by far the best burger in Montreal and way ahead of In-N-Out.

Dinner

My best friend lives next to Jellyfish, so when I'm in the city for dinner, there is no way I’m skipping out on my bone marrow and rotelle.

Drinks

I've always loved the vibe at Atwater Cocktail club.
