With a unique style of music that traverses the soundscapes of soul, pop, disco and R&B, award-winning Toronto-based artist J3M has successfully staked his claim as one of the country’s brightest up-and-coming stars.

After releasing the first single from his forthcoming album back in 2020, J3M returned in 2022 with bang and unveiled two more tracks in “MOONLESS” and “SPACE AND TIME”. Each of the three tracks have been accompanied by highly creative music videos, the last of which was directed, produced, and choreographed by J3M.

With his funky space-themed AFRONAUT EP due out in just over a month, we decided it would be a great time to ask the multi-talented musician a few questions about his favourite food and drink spots in his home base of Toronto.

Breakfast

Stockyards on St. Clair and Christie [has] incredible staff and incredible food. Love the chicken and waffles, the biscuits, the sausage gravy and the ginger lemon iced tea.

Lunch

Ali's Roti at Queen and Lansdowne. Love the staff, they are always so lovely. I would recommend any of the meat dishes wrapped in a fresh paratha. Also the homemade vegan coconut mango ice cream is to die for.

Dinner

Logas Corner. Again incredibly sweet staff. The momos are so affordable but so filling and I think healthy? I'd recommend the potato momo and the beef momo. Bring back the potato balls though! Please!

Drinks

My favourite place for drinks is definitely The Skyline on Queen for jalapeño margaritas. I could drink three of those in one sitting!
