Starting today, hundreds of Canadian restaurants from coast to coast are coming together for a week-long pizza festival. The inaugural La Pizza Week is a follow-up to two other popular food-themed weeks, Le Burger Week and La Poutine Week.
From May 1-7, pizza-lovers will find delicious pizza creations at more than 1,000 restaurants. From classic mozzarella and fresh goat cheese to vegan dairy-free options, the pizzas will feature a variety of Canadian-crafted cheeses provided by Saputo, La Pizza Week’s official partner.
Restaurants have been tasked with creating unique specialty pizzas for the one-week occasion. The La Pizza Week website lists all participating eateries from across the country and their respective creations.
Not only does the festival celebrate and support local restaurants, but it also supports a good cause. Partial proceeds of every pizza sold will go to Anorexia and Bulimia Québec, a charity that provides specialized help for people with eating disorders.
La Pizza Week pizzas are available for pickup and delivery through SkipTheDishes at participating restaurants across Canada. You could probably find a pizza for every day of the week.
