Arva Flour Mills began the operation of their water-powered flour mill in 1819, and has continued running on water ever since. It is believed to be the oldest continuously operating water-powered commercial flour mill in North America. The same family has owned and operated the mill for four generations.
For the most part, this mill operates just as it did when it first opened, with the exception of half the mill now running on electricity. They also mill to order, so the flour you receive will be fresh. You can visit the mill and get a real taste of history by seeing the water powered turbines.
