Chefs are often known for their signature dishes, but what happens when you get them to interpret each other’s? At S. Pellegrino’s 6th Annual Plate Swap happening on January 17, diners get to be privy to just that.
Culinary talent from across the country will come together at one of Calgary’s favourite restaurants, Model Milk, to test their creativity, all in support of a local cause. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids, a charity that feeds the city’s children in need. Through collaborating with schools, they’ve provided bag lunches to more than 75,000 kids and raised awareness for childhood hunger.
Participating chefs include Neil McCue (formerly of Whitehall in Calgary, AB), Charlotte Langley of Scout Canning (Toronto, ON), Jesse McCleery of Pilgrimme (Galiano Island, B.C.), Daniel Hadida and Eric Robertson of Pearl Morissette (Jordan, ON), and of course, owner and chef of the host restaurant, Model Milk, Justin Leboe. He notes his gratitude in being able to leverage his restaurant’s success to bring together homegrown culinary talent, all to help others in his community.
Also in attendance as host of the evening is Matty Matheson, the outspoken culinary personality known for his shows on Vice and for his former role at Toronto’s Parts and Labour.
Tickets for the event are $200 per person, which includes wine pairings for all five courses. Book now by calling 403.265.7343 or visiting modelmilk.ca.
