Burnbrae Farms and TasteToronto launch Dine with Eggs campaign

30 Toronto restaurants team up to support The Children’s Breakfast Clubs

This week, the Canadian family-owned egg producer, Burnbrae Farms announced that it will be teaming up with TasteToronto along with 30 well-known restaurants within the GTA for a six-week culinary experience in support of a great cause.

Food insecurity has been a problematic issue for Canadians even prior to the beginning of the pandemic. The Children’s Breakfast Clubs has been working with households throughout the Toronto area to bring healthy and nutritious breakfasts to children to help start off their day off on the right foot. Burnbrae Farms has been a longtime supporter of the organization and in teaming up with TasteToronto and restaurants throughout the city, they are able to bring the community together.

“Even pre-pandemic, one in 10 households in Toronto were food insecure, meaning many children were going to school on an empty stomach,” said Rick Gosling, President and Founder of The Children’s Breakfast Clubs. “Starting the day with a balanced, nutrition-packed and culturally appropriate breakfast is critical for physical and cognitive development, and we are incredibly grateful to Burnbrae Farms and TasteToronto for making it possible for us to deliver even more breakfasts to children who need it most in our communities.”

Beginning on September 1st and running until October 15th, for every plate and cocktail purchased during the dining collective, Burnbrae farms will donate one breakfast omelette to The Breakfast Clubs. With the support of some of Toronto's top restaurants such as Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen, The Heartbreak Chef, Cafe Landwer, Patois Toronto and more, the "Dine with Eggs," campaign is sure to make a positive impact on GTA communities.

“Providing nutritious food for communities in need is a core part of what we do here at Burnbrae Farms. Eggs and egg products are an excellent source of high-quality protein and provide 13 essential vitamins and minerals,” said Margaret Hudson, President and CEO of Burnbrae Farms. “By teaming up with TasteToronto, we have been able to bring to life the creative side of making fun food and drinks with our eggs, while also helping us to expand our egg donations to stop children from going without the most important meal of the day.  We are very excited about and proud of this initiative!”
