With indoor dining currently on hold and Mother’s Day less than a week away, it seems like Sakura season in Vancouver couldn’t have come at a better time. As the cherry blossoms begin to bloom throughout the city, Tojo’s Restaurant has begun offering a number of ways to celebrate the season with a variety of picnic-style takeaway options.
Tojo’s multi-layered Sakura Hanami Picnic Box features a vast array of shareable picnic-friendly fare such as smoked salmon with ikura, chicken karaage in soy ginger marinade, halibut cheek wrapped in kombu with pickled sakura garnish, vegetable sides and salads, and much more.
For Mother’s Day, chef Hidekazu Tojo has created a selection springtime takeout kits, including a chef-curated seven-course Omakase Set featuring fresh nigiri and sushi with seasonal sides, a Family Favourites kit that includes the restaurant’s most popular rolls, and the Temaki Party, which offers an extravagant selection of premium local and imported seafood such as Hokkaido scallops and snow crab, Atlantic lobster tail, Pacific salmon toro, and more.
Additionally, patrons who place their Mother’s Day orders by May 2 will receive a complimentary gift from Tojo. Omakase sets must be ordered at least one week in advance. Pickup and limited delivery can be arranged online.
