This week, Calgary’s Sukiyaki House unveiled a stunning preview of what guests can look forward to from its upcoming one-day-only Valentine’s Day menu, and as you might expect from the acclaimed Japanese eatery, diners are going to be in for a treat.
Inspired by both chef Koji Kobayashi’s background and the Kaiseki form of fine dining that royalty ate during the Edo period, Sukiyaki House’s five-course Valentine’s Day menu will showcase the versatile culinary capabilities of chef Kobayashi, while also paying tribute to the seasonal ingredients available within the region.
While guests can obviously expect to see a selection of Sukiyaki House’s signature sushi offerings, chef Kobayashi’s menu will also showcase his skills with respect to other styles of Japanese dishes, including a spot prawn miso soup with braised daikon, a red sea bream carpaccio, a shio koji-marinated lamb chop, and a chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Sukiyaki House’s Valentine’s Day tasting menu is priced at $100 per seat with optional sake pairings available upon request. Reservations can currently be made online.
