One of Canada's premier Thai restaurants has just announced an exciting expansion of its operating hours, offering a more delicious array of unique Thai dishes than ever before.

Kiin has long been a popular destination in Toronto for those seeking a taste of contemporary Thai cooking and, more specifically, royal Thai cuisine thanks to co-owner and chef Nuit Regular. Since Kiin reopened in September 2022, the restaurant has gotten back into the full swing of things, offering dinner service from Wednesdays to Sundays, but as of May 1 it will begin a new daily café-style service.

Dubbed "Kiin Café", the daytime offerings at Kiin will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Both the lunch menu and brunch menu (which has a smaller window of availbility, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends) will feature traditional Thai breakfast and lunch dishes and drinks worth getting exciting about.

Expect dishes like Thai-style fried eggs, Thai rice congee, and Thai crullers and mango-powder-dusted mini doughnuts (see the Instagram Reel below). On the drink side of things, start your brunch off right with Thai-style coffee and tea, pandan-butterfly pea lattes and more.

“For most Thai people, breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” says Kiin co-owner Jeff Regular. “It’s a familiar sight to see the streets lined with push carts: the congee cart serving up steaming hot rice porridge, the Patong Gho cart with its freshly fried, golden Thai crullers, the Moo Ping cart with its sizzling pork skewers on a red-hot charcoal grill, or the many different noodle carts and shops...We’re transporting the experience of those foods to our café, but on an elevated level.”

The restaurant says it also plans to roll out a Thai-style afternoon tea service some time soon as well. Very exciting!

Kiin Café (i.e. the daytime persona of Kiin) is located at 326 Adelaide Street West and as of May 1 will be open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch and Wednesdays to Sundays for dinner. Reservations for this restaurant are highly recommended can be made online via Tock.
