Great Canadian Baking Show winner Raufikat Oyawoye-Salami gets her own series

The inaugural season of Raufikat's Better Bake Along will premiere on March 25

If you didn't fall in love with Raufikat Oyawoye-Salami during her (winning) run on The Great Canadian Baking Show Season, you are no friend of mine.

The talented home baker is back on CBC as of Friday, March 25 with her own comedic instructional baking series Raufikat's Better Bake Along. Produced by Proper Television, the six-part series stars Raufikat alongside GCBS co-hosts Alan Shane Lewis and Ann Pornel. During each episode she guides the two comedians step-by-step through some of her favourite baking recipes.

Turning the tables slightly, Alan and Ann see who winds up with the best end product, a.k.a. the "Better Bake". The series will see them baking everything from macarons to cream-filled doughnuts.

“It’s a unique hybrid format fueled by Raufikat’s calm, cool expertise and Ann and Alan’s enthusiastic ineptitude,” said Cathie James, co-president of Proper Television in the show's announcement. “You can’t watch it without laughing and learning something.”

All six episodes of Raufikat's Better Bake Along will be available for viewing as of Friday, March 25 on CBC Gem.
