The fourth annual Alberta on the Plate festival is slated to take place in just over two months, and this week, the Alberta Local Food Week celebration unveiled this year’s roster featuring 59 food and beverage purveyors from across the province.

Throughout the 10-day festival, returning restaurants like Calgary’s Rouge, St. Paul’s Twisted Fork, Lacombe’s Cilantro and Chive, and Edmonton’s Three Vikings will be joined by new participants like Calgary’s Bridgette Bar, Red Deer’s Occam’s Razor, and Lacombe’s Blindman Brewing to feature fixed-price menus that highlight local producers, growers, distillers, and brewers.

“This slate of establishments showcases the local flavours that influence each region of the province,” stated Rheannon Green, Director at Food Tourism Strategies. “These establishments are dedicated to supporting the Alberta food economy by incorporating local ingredients not only into their regular menus but into their core business philosophies. They create wonderful platforms for showcasing our local farms, producers, and processors.”

Registration for this year’s Alberta on the Plate festival is still underway until June 30, so Albertans can likely expect to start seeing each participant’s fixed-price menus shortly thereafter. The current list of participating locations can be found online.
