Summer is officially underway in Calgary now that the doors to Hotel Arts’ pool and patio have finally opened for the season. However, unlike years past, this time, Hotel Arts’ outdoor urban oasis plans to stay open for good.
After completing phase one of its two-part transformation, Hotel Arts is now ready to re-stake its claim as Calgary’s best patio space, unveiling a new pool, a permanent patio bar, fireplace tables with luxury furnishings, and brand new cocktail and patio menus.
The poolside menus from Hotel Arts’ culinary team has a bit of something for everyone. The weekend daytime menu includes shareable plates like grilled shishito peppers, tuna tacos, and pork belly and scallop sliders. The evening menu contains a diverse assortment of shareable items, but also features delectable full-size entrees like Korean beef short rib, a Thai curry noodle bowl, and the ever-popular Yellow Door burger.
The summer cocktail and wine menus are ripe with seasonal concoctions designed to give guests the feeling of a summer getaway, while still providing spirits, brews, and bubbles from local producers. Additionally, later this summer, Hotel Arts will be adding tequila-and-taco Sundays to its catalogue of offerings.
Once the summer inevitably comes to an end, the second and perhaps most exciting phase of Hotel Arts’ poolside transformation will take place with the addition of an inflatable, illuminated canvas structure by Calgary’s Dynamic Air Shelters. The innovative rooftop will allow the poolside courtyard to stay open year round, giving Calgarians the opportunity to escape the busy city and its wintry chill without the hassle of travelling beyond the border.
