Daily bite: White Spot restaurants to host annual charitable lunch services on Christmas Day

Two Vancouver White Spot locations are gearing up to give back for its 18th annual Christmas Charity Lunch Services

For the 18th consecutive year, White Spot is getting ready to celebrate the Christmas season by giving back to its community. Both the Kingsway and the Richmond Centre locations will open their doors on Christmas Day for lunch service, and will donate all net proceeds earned--including wages and tips--to two Greater Vancouver charities.

Last year, the two locations raised a total of just over $20,000 for The Richmond Hospital Foundation and Variety - The Children’s Charity. Since the inception of White Spot’s employee-led Christmas Charity Lunch Services in 2001, the initiative has generated more than $242,370 for both causes.

"The holiday season is all about giving, and we’re so proud to continue supporting two very worthy causes in our community with this special initiative,” says White Spot president Warren Erhart. “Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our front- and back-of-house staff members who donate their time each year, and to all of our guests who join in the fun and festivities on Christmas Day.”

While the Christmas Day menus vary by location, guests can expect to see classic White Spot favourites at both locations, such as The Legendary burger, The Spot’s fish and chips, and the traditional roast turkey dinner. The Richmond Centre location also plans to feature a variety of brunch specials, including classic Benedicts, shrimp Florentine, and cheesesteak hash.

White Spot’s 18th annual Christmas Charity Lunch Services will run between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 25.
