LCBO launches fundraising campaign to support Ontario food relief programs

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario is teaming up with local food charities to combat food insecurity

In response to the growing number of communities facing food insecurity, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) launched a new fundraising campaign this weekend that makes it even easier for Ontarians to support efforts to sustain essential food relief programs.

The LCBO is encouraging customers to make a donation of $2, $5, or $10 alongside purchases made online and at LCBO stores across Ontario. Donations will directly support active food relief models from Feed Ontario, Community Food Centres Canada, and Second Harvest

"This campaign is rooted in our Spirit of Sustainability platform to improve the well-being of Ontarians. We recognize the immense and lasting impact our fundraising campaigns have on our communities and our responsibility to answer the urgent call for support during a time of crisis," said LCBO president and CEO, George Soleas in a recent press release. "I want to thank our customers for their generosity, especially during this time, and our employees for their dedication and hard work. Because of them, we will provide necessary funding to these vital organizations that are doing tremendous work to support Ontarians during the COVID-19 pandemic and through recovery."
