This week, SkipTheDishes launched the latest phase in its alcohol delivery service, adding Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray to the list of Canadian cities to have the option.
The popular delivery app has added beer, wine, and liquor as searchable subcategories from restaurants, breweries, and liquor stores, and it now includes an age verification disclaimer.
Although other alcohol delivery services already exist in Alberta, SkipTheDishes will become the first food delivery app in the province to join the market.
SkipTheDishes, who has been offering the service in B.C. and Manitoba since 2017, has said that all of its alcohol delivery couriers will have their liquor serving certificate and go through a thorough and specific onboarding process. All customers must show proper identification upon delivery or the delivery will not be completed, and the customer will be subject to a $20 fee.
