Soup Sisters’ National Soup It Forward Day returns March 3

Delivering warmth and kindness with the help of chefs and cookbook contributors from across Canada

After going virtual for the past two years to accommodate various pandemic protocols, food security initiative Soup Sisters’ annual National Soup It Forward Day is officially returning to its original format next week.

Since it was founded in 2009, the Soup Sisters initiative has delivered over 3 million servings of soup to people in need across Canada. The Soup It Forward Day initiative offers Canadians an opportunity to amplify Soup Sisters’ impact by asking individuals to make their favourite soup and deliver it to someone who could use some extra warmth and kindness in their life on March 3.

To make the simple process even easier and let’s be honest—more delicious—Soup Sisters have teamed up with a collection of acclaimed Canadian chefs and cookbook contributors, including Nicole Gomes (Top Chef Canada: All Stars winner and owner of Cluck 'N' Cleaver), Anna Olson, Jaime Harling (Harling Food Co.), Jennifer Schell, and many more.

Additionally, participants that post a photo of their soup creation and use the tag #SoupItForwardDay will be entered into a draw for a chance to win three Soup Sisters cookbooks

More information about National Soup It Forward Day along with participating contributors and recipes can be found online. Canadians wishing to donate directly to the Soup Bank can do so here.
