Vancouver’s Douce Diner launches Douce After Dark

The iconic North Shore diner expands its offerings

After serving as one of North Vancouver’s premier destinations for delicious daytime eats since opening in 2019, Douce Diner announced today that it will be making its first foray into the world of private events and off-site catering with the launch of Douce After Dark.

Although the new offerings will be a first for the diner, celebrated chef and owner Dawn Doucette has plenty of experience when it comes to catering, having created multiple menus for events ranging from intimate sit-down dinners to large get-togethers of several hundred.

“I have always loved catering and helping people celebrate the big and small moments in their lives,” says Doucette. “I’m so excited to welcome guests in for parties ‘After Dark’ and to make the Douce experience available outside of the diner.”

Some of chef Doucette’s day-one After Dark dishes include sharable starters like spicy ahi tuna tostada with pickled jalapeño, cucumber, sriracha aioli, furikake and daikon sprouts; comfort classics like grilled cheese with caramelised onion, cheddar, and gruyère served with roasted tomato soup; and nostalgic desserts such as mini Oreo cookie sandwiches, lemon meringue tarts, and mini vanilla milkshakes.

The  Douce After Dark offerings will be available for private parties at Douce Diner as well as off-site catering events. Bookings can be made via email, while the full catering menus can be viewed online.
