Casting now open for 'The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down'

A new competition series for ceramicists across Canada

Everybody say clay! A spin-off of the popular British series The Great Pottery Throw Down is officially coming to Canada.

The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down Season 1 is currently casting for competitors until May 24, 2024. The application can be filled out online now and includes an extensive questionnaire as well a ceramics image and video submission requirements to help casting producers determine the 10 most ideal individuals for the show's inaugural season.

Produced by Frantic Films, the series will see 10 ceramicists from across the country put through a series of challenges—and eliminations—until one is crowned the winner. Though there are no firm details for this Canadian spin-off as of yet, the format will likely be similar to The Great Canadian Baking Show, where contestants are solely competing for the satisfaction of winning (i.e. no prize money).

We know that there is a long list talented potters out there who are making dishes, cups and more for some of Canada's best restaurants and bars, so this competition is going to be fierce!

Applications for The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down can be completed online with a due date of 12 a.m. ET on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Viewers can expect The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down Season 1 to premiere some time in 2024. Interested folks can also follow Frantic Films on Instagram for future show updates: @franticfilms.
