After a successful year in business, Hānai is celebrating its first birthday by launching a new happy hour experience that will see a mix of tasty snacks, feature dishes and drink specials on offer between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The Hānai Happy Hour menu will change from-day-to-day, but include $6 snacks like Kamaboko dip (steamed Japanese fish cake), boiled peanuts, and candied anchovies as well as shareables (priced at $10+) including deep-fried mushrooms with larb seasoning, kinilaw, poke and more.

“This past year has been incredible, and we’re so thankful for the support we’ve received from all our friends in the community,” said Hānai's chef and co-owner Tess Bevernage in today's announcement. “We’ve wanted to launch Hānai Happy Hour for a while, and thought doing it on our birthday was the best time and also best way to celebrate!"

In terms of bevvies, patrons can expect to see a 30 per cent discount on select bottles of wine and sake, a feature boozy slush drink each week (such as their Pisco Juice Slush with green chartreuse, pisco, pineapple, lime, star anise. Yum!), as well as specials on draft beer and Negronis.

Hānai is located at 1590 Commercial Drive and open Thursdays to Mondays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with happy hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations are recommended for the restaurant's Ohana family-style set menu.
