With wildly popular BC restaurants like Araxi, Blue Water Cafe and CinCin, as well as successful hospitality ventures in New York, the Vancouver-based Toptable Group has established itself as a top-tier food-and-drink enterprise.
This week, the hospitality group has announced its newest restaurant Marilena, which is set to open in Victoria, BC on June 28, 2023.
Currently in the finishing touches of build at 1525 Douglas Street, the LEED-Platinum property was designed by Jawl Properties and is the first Vancouver Island venture for the company. By now, most folks know that Toptable spares no expense in the interior design department, so expect a stunning dining room and open concept kitchen at Marilena.
“We are thrilled to open our doors to the Victoria community this month and work with the incredibly talented executive chef Kristian Eligh who grew up in this very special city,” said Toptable Group president Michael Doyle in today's announcement. “Our philosophy of combining extraordinary talent with an unparalleled level of hospitality is what we’re most excited to deliver to our new home on Vancouver Island.”
Culinary resume aside, Kristian Eligh is both an avid free diver and fisherman, so a seafood-forward menu is something the chef comes by naturally. Grilled octopus, dungeness crab cake, Hecate Strait halibut, and a showstopping whole grilled Nova Scotia lobster are just a few of the dishes to expect from this soon-to-be-open eatery in the heart of Victoria.
Sushi fans will also feel satiated knowing that Marilena will also offer an authentic Japanese raw bar, headed up by chef Clark Park (formerly of Miku).
Marilena is located at 1525 Douglas Street, and following its official opening on June 28, 2023, it will operate daily from 4:30 p.m. onward. Reservations for the new Toptable Group restaurant in Victoria, BC, can now be made online.
