The Nigerian-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Sadé Awele is a captivating musical talent that merges the worlds of gospel, R&B, jazz, Afro-fusion and Afrobeats into a spellwinding kind of sound.

Since releasing her debut single "Count on Me" in 2018, Awele has continued to garner more and more buzz thanks to a string of critically-acclaimed releases in the years that followed. A nod from Exclaim! as a must-know artist and being awarded Female Artist of the Year by the African Fashion and Arts Movement (AFAM, 2020) have helped to prove that she is a rising star in the Canadian music scene.

Her first EP Time Love Journey saw 200,000 streams, which is no easy feat for an independent act, and folks are now eagerly anticipating her follow-up EP, which is currently in production. While we can expect the new body of work out later this year, Sadé Awele's recently-released single "Intuition" is a dynamic taste of what's to come.

Speaking of taste, the BC-based singer knows a time or two about where to eat too. From an famed pasta spot to one of the best bars to catch live music, Sadé Awele shares her favourite spots for food and drink in Vancouver.
