Known for its dynamic contemporary Asian eats, Potluck Hawker Eatery has always been a popular destination for Vancouverites and visiting foodies alike. This week, the Potluck owners have announced an exciting new burger concept which will open in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood later this spring.

Street Hawker is currently in construction at 3088 Main Street in a two-level space (plus patio) with its overall branding and interior design drawing vibrant inspiration from the 90s video game Street Fighter. Once it's ready to open (fingers are crossed for late spring), patrons can order an array of Southeast Asian-inspired smash burgers, sandwiches, milkshakes, and more.

“We wanted to bring the energy of a traditional hawker stand to Main Street, but with a West Coast feel, where people can come in for a quick meal or take out, featuring delicious Southeast Asian-style handhelds and treats,” said co-owner and chef Justin Cheung in today's announcement. “One of my favourites that’s to come, the Malay-O-Fish with breaded fish, sambal, and coconut ranch.”
