Bringing together a selection of Toronto's finest chefs, the inaugural Toronto Tastemaker event is a two-day showcase of the city's finest food and drink. Hosted from May 18-19 in the Kiln Building of the Evergreen Brick Works, Tastemaker Toronto boasts a chef line-up brimming with talent. Alida Soloman (Tutti Matti), Michael Hunter (Antler) and Carl Heinrich (Richmond Station) are just a few of the locally-renowned chefs featured at Toronto Tastemaker. Each of these "tastemasters" is picked from a diverse selection of prominent Toronto restaurants, enabling guests to sample a wide variety of flavours and dishes under one roof.

"I'm excited about Tastemaker because I love what I do, I love to interact with guests and I love collaborating with other chefs," says Elia Herrera, owner and chef of Los Colibris,Top Chef Canada season six competitor, and one of the tastemakers at the event. "I'm also very proud of my culture, so I enjoy the opportunity to share it with others."

The Sobeys Tastemaker Kitchen will house some of Toronto's finest chefs collaborating together for the first time. This provides an excellent opportunity for guests to watch and learn from their recipes and techniques. Guests will also have the opportunity to interact with the chefs and taste their creations, as the feature is designed to encourage an inviting and informal environment. The Toronto Tastemaker event also includes the Paderno Challenge Kitchen, which will feature two chefs per session, competing to produce dishes based on a specific ingredient. This will provide an opportunity for guests to learn about how to use ingredients in new ways, whilst allowing them to interact with these renowned chefs.

Another feature of the festival is the Toronto Life Pairing Table, which will allow guests to experience unique food and drink pairings. Each session will host intimate talks with food and drink experts, where guests are guided through a paired tasting from chefs, producers and craft cocktail mixologists.

Tickets are now on sale from CDN $60 through Eventbrite. Each all-inclusive ticket allows guests access to all food & drink at the event on a session-based entry.
