Though it may feel like spring is quite a way's away, that doesn't mean you shouldn't have something to look forward to for this coming May. On Monday, October 23rd, the tenth annual Half Corked Marathon, one of the country's most popular and jovial jogs, will once again reopen their ticket lottery for the 2018 race, set to take place on Saturday, May 26th in Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country.
The 18 km run through the wineries and vineyards is just short of a half marathon, but meant to be much more fun, with plenty of groups partaking in full costume. If being competitve isn't your cup of tea or glass of wine, then feel free to take breaks at any of the many amazing wineries along the way to sip and enjoy the terroir of the south Okanagan. If you feel inclined to buy bottles of wine along the way, so be it, but best bring a backpack in that case!
"We are so excited to announce the lottery for the tenth year celebration of this incredible event – recently recognized again for Event of the Year," says Jennifer Busmann, executive director for the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association, which is the founding organization of the race. "We can't wait to show off our incredible region over this magical weekend, with added events for 2018, including a series of intimate winemaker vineyard dinners and much more!"
The Half Corked Marathon's ticket lottery runs from October 23rd to 30th.
