Just when you thought food delivery couldn’t get any more convenient, Uber Eats has made another game-changing leap to provide expeditious food at your fingertips in a place that, at one point, was seemingly out of reach.
Yesterday, Canada’s largest airport announced an exciting first-of-its-kind partnership with Uber Eats to serve international and domestic passengers their favourite HMSHost restaurant food directly at their gate. After being voted North America’s Best Large Airport just last month, Toronto Pearson’s pilot program with Uber Eats moves towards securing their place among the best and most innovative airports in the world for years to come.
“Uber Eats’ partnership with Toronto Pearson is a perfect example of how our platform is creating unique experiences in unexpected places, beyond rides,” said Marcus Womack, head of global airport products at Uber. “We’re making the dining experience a more convenient part of travel, in one of the world’s most innovative airports one meal at a time.”
Airport food options have historically been lackluster, even for a location the size of Toronto Pearson. Just a day after the partnership’s announcement, prospective passengers have already begun flocking to the airport’s social media accounts en masse to express their delight. HMSHost’s restaurant catalogue includes Caplansky’s Deli, Paramount Fine Foods, Smoke’s Burritorie, Smashburger, and Fionn MacCools.
“HMSHost is committed to finding new ways to enhance traveller dining and Uber Eats brings convenience for all guests when they choose to dine with HMSHost,” said Neil Thompson, vice president of operations, HMSHost. “We are very excited about partnering with Toronto Pearson and Uber Eats to expand the amenities we offer and to providing passengers with an elevated guest experience through delivery service.”
