From his early beginnings as a short filmmaker to his many memorable performances with the Second City Touring Company, comedian Alan Shane Lewis has always had a penchant for creating uplifting, high-energy comedy.
Since joining the cast of The Great Canadian Baking Show at the onset of Season 4, the effervescent host has provided plenty of both while helping the acclaimed cooking competition reach new heights and new audiences across the country.
When he’s not delivering droves of laughs and upbeat energy to the GCBS set, there’s a good chance you can catch the multifaceted actor and comedian exploring Toronto’s fantastic food and beverage scene.
Now that The Great Canadian Baking Show has passed the halfway mark, we thought it would be a good time to find out which dining destinations currently rank the highest on his list.
Breakfast
McDonald's...I know that breakfast at McDonald’s is all-day now, but nothing beats that feeling of waking up early in the morning, going to McDonald’s and rewarding yourself with some hashbrowns for getting a good start on your day.
Lunch
Whether it be wings or a southwest chicken bowl, Gabby's has kept me happily fed. Bonus: they are open so late so this can be an all-day and night feeling.
Dinner
What can be said about New Sky Restaurant. Just good reliable, delicious food and great portions.
Drinks
Sneaky Dees is a fun hole in the wall that I’ve found myself frequenting. Whether it’s a dance night or just drinks, this place has been a home away from home for me. The owner is such a nice dude, the bouncers [and the] bartenders [are] all great people. And I didn’t even get to the best part: Late. Night. Nachos!
