Avenue Magazine’s annual list of Calgary’s Best Restaurants was unveiled this week, highlighting restaurants that stood out over the past year in categories ranging from Best Overall Restaurants and Best New Restaurants to cuisine-specific categories like Best African Restaurants, Best Burger Joints, and Best Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurants.
The Best Overall Restaurants category came in the form of an unranked Top 10 list, which was primarily composed of consistently top-rated concepts like Sukiyaki House, River Cafe, and Rouge retaining their status among Calgary’s best.
The Best New Restaurants list featured five relative newcomers to the Calgary food and beverage scene—many of whom have already established themselves as premier dining destinations—including Jin Bar, Major Tom, and Orchard Restaurant.
Other notable winners include Safari Grill as Calgary’s Best African Restaurant, Calcutta Cricket Club for Best Indian/Pakistani Restaurant, Roy’s Korean Kitchen for Best Korean Restaurant, Con Mi Taco taking Best Pop-Up Restaurant, and White Elephant winning Best Thai Restaurant.
