Eat This Now: Chartier’s Rainbow Bread raises funds for a great cause

An amazing Pride-inspired bread in support of iSMSS Alberta

Canada’s Pride Month has officially arrived and we’ve been thrilled to see an already-vibrant assortment of creative Pride-themed food and beverages sprinkled across our social media feeds.

One particular Pride-themed offering from Alberta’s acclaimed Chartier popped up over the weekend that in addition to being visually stunning, also goes towards supporting a great cause.

The Beaumont bakery’s Rainbow Bread is a multicoloured reimagination of its classic pan di spagna made with eggs, milk, butter, and Chartier’s natural sourdough levain. All proceeds from each Rainbow Bread sale will be donated to the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iMSS).

“This year, we want to specifically recognize the experiences of Black, Indigenous and racialized members of this community—so we'll be dedicating proceeds raised from our rainbow sales to iSMSS programs and services that specifically focus on serving and advocating for the QTBIPOC community,” Chartier explained in the above social media post.

Chartier’s bakery opens Wednesdays through Fridays at 11 a.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m. Orders can be placed online, over the phone, and in person at the Beaumont restaurant and bakery.
