After returning to an in-person format in 2021 following a successful shift to digital in the year prior, Classroom Champions’ annual fundraising concert with Barney Bentall and the Cariboo Express will be making a return this year, for both the eighth annual edition in Calgary and for the first time ever in Toronto.
Similar to years past, each of the two Concerts for Classrooms events will feature a fun night of heartfelt roots, folk, and rock music from Barney Bentall and The Cariboo Express and a selection of yet-to-be-revealed musicians, with 100 per cent of all proceeds being allocated to Classroom Champions’ mentorship and programming for underserved and Indigenous kids across Canada.
Although additional details are still being kept under wraps, the charitable organization has divulged that the Toronto leg will be hosted by returning event ambassadors Ron Maclean and Olympic gold medalist Tessa Virtue, while the Calgary leg will serve as a tribute to the late Peter Burgener and will be co-hosted by Peter’s son Matt Masters.
We can also confirm that the two events will offer enhanced VIP cocktail experiences that each come complete with an assortment of warm and cold gourmet hors d'oeuvres provided by local purveyors.
The Calgary Concert for Classrooms event is taking place on November 4 at Bella Concert Hall. The Toronto Concert for Classrooms event is happening on November 10 at Glenn Gould Studio. More information about Classroom Champions can be found online.
