John Molson founded Canada's first brewery in Montreal back in 1786, making Molson the oldest brewery in North America. The longstanding brewery and iconic fixture can still be found on Notre-Dame Street East, producing beer on the site of the original brewery to this day--but not for long. Molson Coors Canada Inc. plans to keep its offices in Montreal at the original site, while moving the brewery itself into a new state-of-the-art facility across the river in Longueuil once construction is complete.

The Molson name is almost synonymous with Canada, with roots deep in national identity and pride. Touted as Canada’s most popular alcoholic beverage, beer makes up for more than 45 per cent of all national alcoholic sales and supports 163,200 jobs throughout Canada.
