While in Toronto last month (it's been a minute), my pal Mairlyn Smith took me for a stroll down the Danforth. Though I have spent a bit of time on the strip before, she was certain I didn't know just how many little gems graced the street.
And she was right!
The Samosarie is one of her proclaimed gems and boasts a vibrant array of tasty samosas that are naturally coloured and 100 per cent halal. Filling flavours include spins on traditional Indian dishes like the honey garlic aloo gobi (orange), masala dosa (yellow), as well as things like the vegan Jamaican patty (red).
They make for satiating bite-size snacks on-the-go, but probably taste even better when reheated briefly in the oven at home. For folks with dietary restrictions and allergies, Samosarie definitely knows what's up and can confirm which samosa is dairy-free, or nut-free, or peanut-free or, well, you get the point.
The Samosarie is located at 1904 Danforth Avenue and open Tuesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
