While New York-style pizza has reached peak popularity in North America over the past couple of years, there are few in Canada that do it better than Noble Pie.
After humble beginnings as a pop-up inside of Calgary's Eighty-Eight Brewing Co., the pizzeria opened its own sit-down spot in the Beltline area in late 2021. Noble remains as busy as ever, and for great reason, as their crust is near-perfection—appropriately salty and with a perfect chew.
You can't go wrong with any pizza topping variety here, with the ability to do a half-and-half pizza if you'd like, but I am still thinking about The Saucy Mama which I ordered the other week from Noble Pie. With a base of tomato sauce and plenty of garlic, sweet and spicy peppers, red onion, fennel sausage, grana padano, pecorino and aged mozzarella, it's a filling meal with any leftover slices still tasting quite satisfying the next morning.
I'm not the only one that has cold pizza for breakfast, right?
Noble Pie is located in the back alley of 720 11 Avenue S.W. and is open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
