Between spots like Empire Provisions, 'Lil Empire, Tubby Dog and V Burger, there certainly is no shortage of tasty burger options in Calgary. The latest to enter the burger fray in the city is Saucy Burger which kicked off its "grand opening weekend" yesterday.
Located on the corner of 9th Street S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W (in the former Nellie's Cosmic Cafe space), the fast-casual spot is hoping Calgarians love the simple, but quality-constructed menu that consists of burgers (obviously) and waffle fries. Open from morning to night, Saucy will offer an array of breakfast burgers as well as turkey and vegan patty options too.
The eatery is co-owned by SAIT culinary instructor Michael Dekker who is especially excited about the new venture. "I’ve always been interested in starting my own fast food concept and being able to give people a local option to feel good about eating," says Dekker. "Really good local ingredients turned into a no-nonsense style of fast food. This location became available and I knew its where I wanted to start."
Saucy Burger is located at 1001 17 Avenue S.W. and open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
