One of Calgary’s newest and most buzzworthy eateries is launching a new brunch service this upcoming weekend. Fortuna’s Row has already made significant waves since opening its doors this past summer, and chef Mikko Tamarra’s new weekend brunch menu looks poised to continue that trend.
As fans of Fortuna’s dinner program might expect, the new brunch service is highlighted by a strong selection of South American-inspired dishes, such as the chilaquiles with salsa verde, black beans, cotija cheese, and picadillo (above) and the papadzules with duck confit, pipian, fried egg, and braised tomato.
The new menu also features a few fun house-made plays on traditional brunch offerings like pancakes with salted caramel chantilly and sesame praline or poached eggs with smashed avocado, panela cheese, and sourdough toast.
For dessert, pastry chef Teisha Huff has designed a sure draw in the “Ugly Corn Bread” with blueberry, haskap, and crème fraîche, and will also be offering a light and fluffy concha that will feature a rotating flavour profile.
The new brunch service at Fortuna's Row kicks off this weekend and will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
