It’s no secret that we at Eat North love ourselves a good weekend brunch, so it should come as no surprise that we were instantly intrigued when Vancouver’s Alimentaria Mexicana reintroduced itself this past week as Vancouver’s best new brunch destination.
While the verdict on the aforementioned title is still out, we can confirm that Alimentaria’s new weekend brunch service sounds as unique as it does delicious. Alimentaria describes its brunch program as an immersive culinary journey through time-honoured Mexican traditions, techniques, and ingredients.
The menu itself contains a number of droolworthy brunch dishes, including a full Mexican breakfast featuring pork belly, green chorizo, and fingerling potatoes; crispy chilaquiles that are served with sour cream, refried beans, onions, cilantro, feta, fried eggs, and salsa; and toasted pork belly molletes topped with fried beans, cheese, and pico de gallo.
Alimentaria Mexicana’s brunch service takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The full brunch menu can be found online.
