After years of planning and anticipation, Hargrave St. Market finally opened its doors to the public this weekend in downtown Winnipeg’s True North Square building. The latest addition to the Peg City culinary community is a 30,000-sq.-ft. food hall that features an elevated take on traditional food hall fare from some of the city’s top local chefs and restaurants.
The Hargrave St. Market space holds up to 600 people, and offers a vast array of food selection for almost any occasion. From authentic street food at The Good Fight Taco and Saburo Kitchen to brunch and smoked meats at Miss Browns, to a full-service restaurant equipped with wood-burning ovens from the team at Pizzeria Gusto, the new food hall seems to have something for everyone.
And if the sheer amount of food options weren’t enough, Hargrave St. Market has gone one step further by including plenty of beverage options as well. Rose Bar will provide patrons with a plethora of craft cocktails, curated wines, and local beer from breweries like Little Brown Jug, Barn Hammer, and Lake of the Woods Brewing Company, who will also be brewing on site in the near future.
In addition to serving as a daily beacon for food and drink-loving Winnipeggers and tourists alike, Hargrave St. Market’s proximity to Bell MTS Place will likely ensure the food hall’s status as a go-to destination for pre- and post-game parties. The food hall was created in part to reinforce a sense of community in downtown Winnipeg and it succeeds in offering a vibrant and inclusive environment that celebrates the best in local cuisine.
Hargrave St. Market is open Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sundays Fools + Horses and Miss Browns are open for brunch service from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the other vendors will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
