After 12 years of operation, the Saskatoon Farmers’ Market will officially say goodbye to its Riversdale location on December 22. The move comes after the City of Saskatoon, which owns the Riversdale building, voted against renewing the co-operative’s lease.
While there appears to be mixed feelings from patrons about the change, earlier this month, the Farmers’ Market announced its plans to move into the Cavendish building on Koyl Avenue.
The Koyl Avenue space will be a dedicated farmers’ market on Saturdays and Sundays, and will offer an outdoor market when weather allows. The Saskatoon Farmers’ Market is now seeking concession operators for the new location’s indoor market, which is set to open after renovations sometime early next year. Interested concession operators must submit their application by email before 3 p.m. on Friday, January 10th, 2020.
