With the premiere of Saskatchewan writer Jenn Sharp’s highly anticipated docuseries, Flat Out Food, now two weeks away, Sharp just announced a one-of-a-kind launch party set to take place at Saskatoon’s Alt Hotel on February 24.

Since a traditional launch party wasn’t exactly feasible due to COVID-19 restrictions, Sharp–much like Saskatchewan’s hospitality industry over the past 12 months–had to get creative.

The result is Connected While Apart, a one-of-a-kind VIP package created in partnership with Tourism Saskatchewan that will allow guests to enjoy the splendour of Saskatchewan’s food and beverage scene from the comforts of their room at the Alt Hotel.

Each package includes a one-night stay and underground parking at the Alt Hotel, cocktail kits from Primal Pasta and Black Fox Farm and Distillery, a wheat-themed three-course dinner courtesy of Taste Restaurant Group and The Cure Artisanal Charcuterie, a box of baked goods from the Night Oven Bakery and a signed copy of Flat Out Delicious: Your Definitive Guide to Saskatchewan’s Food Artisans. Exclusive in-room entertainment provided by way of a special livestream presentation hosted by Eat North's Dan Clapson and Mairlyn Smith (along with some special guests) and local deejay The Gaff will be spinning some tunes from his home studio in Saskatoon.

Guests of the Connected While Apart experience will have staggered arrival times and will be granted access to a launch party event room via Zoom. Tickets are priced at $325 per room experience and are available to purchase online until Sunday, February 21.

The Flat Out Food VIP experience has been reviewed and approved by an Occupational Health and Safety Senior Specialist to ensure it meets and exceeds all established COVID-19 safety protocols and health regulations.

Flat Out Food will premiere on February 24 on Citytv Saskatchewan and will be available to stream online.
