As a judge on Top Chef Canada with an ever-expanding catalogue of world-renowned restaurant concepts that include the likes of Gusto 501, Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen, Kiin, and of course Felix in LA, Janet Zuccarini has long since become one of the most successful and recognizable faces in Canada’s hospitality industry.
This week, in addition to launching her brand new Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East-inspired concept Azhar Kitchen and Bar, the award-winning Toronto-based restaurateur celebrated the 25th anniversary of the first restaurant she ever opened, Trattoria Nervosa.
Since opening its doors in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood in 1996, Trattoria Nervosa has been serving up home-cooked Southern Italian cuisine prepared with pride and love. While the restaurant’s menu has evolved over the years, the quality and consistency of the fare on offer has remained unchanged.
"Since opening our doors 25 years ago, [Nervosa] has truly become a special neighbourhood gathering place," said Zuccarini in her celebratory Instagram post.
If the last 25 years are any indication, it would come as no surprise to see the Toronto institution continue to thrive as one of the city’s top dining destinations for decades to come.
Trattoria Nervosa is open Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and from noon to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
