As the pandemic continues to inflict the Canadian hospitality industry and restaurants across the country struggle to stay afloat, supporting local independently-owned establishments remains as important as ever.
Today, in an effort to provide additional means of support to B.C. food and beverage businesses–who are expected to be hit with another extended period of restrictions on indoor dining later this afternoon–Okanagan winery Meyer Family Vineyards announced the launch of a localized bingo card that features a staggering 84 culinary companies in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, and 71 from throughout the B.C. Interior.
Similar to the YYC Resto Bingo initiative that Calgary’s Empire Provisions launched last week, participants of Meyer’s Springo campaign must simply order take-out or dine-in (depending on active restrictions) from any five restaurants on the card and provide their receipt. Additionally, B.C. residents will gain additional entries by way of posting a photo on Instagram of dishes ordered, tagging the restaurant, and using the hashtag #SPRINGO.
Participants who accumulate five squares will receive a $25 Mayer Family Vineyards or Mayhem voucher, as well as entry into the grand prize drawing for a chance to win a two-night stay in Mayer’s guest suite for up to four people. The grand prize also includes an Okanagan Falls wine tour provided by Experience Wine Tours, a free Myer-Mayhem food and wine pairing experience, and a $125 gift card from Penticton’s Pizzeria Tratto.
To enter, mail in, drop off, or email pictures of your receipts with your name, phone number, and email address to firstname.lastname@example.org. Springo runs from now until June, 19, 2021.
