Parq Vancouver receives commendation for leadership in energy

The urban luxury resort receives a Gold Certification from Canada Green Building Council

Parq Vancouver recently became the recipient of a coveted Gold Certification from the Canada Green Building Council (CGBC) for demonstrating excellence in sustainability and green building practices.

Each of the hotel’s two Vancouver properties, JW Marriott Parq Vancouver and The Douglas, Autograph Collection, were recognized by the CGBC and received third-party verification through the LEED certification process—something only five buildings in B.C. were able to achieve in 2022.

“This is a huge milestone for all of us at Parq, and something we’ve been working toward long before shovels went in the ground and we opened the doors five years ago,” said Parq Vancouver president and CEO Peter Goudron. “But we don’t plan to rest on these laurels. We continue to fine-tune our sustainability practices across the facility to ensure that we remain an industry leader and do our part to keep people healthier, make our community more resilient, and minimize our impact on the environment wherever possible.”
