Vancouver’s Trattoria to host Khatsahlano Festival meatball eating competition

The meatball eating champion will receive a year’s worth of spaghetti and meatballs

The 10th annual Khatsahlano Street Party is taking place this weekend in Vancouver, and while the merchants of West 4th Avenue and this year’s performers are getting ready to celebrate the community’s arts culture, others will be gearing up to run the meatball gauntlet in Trattoria Kitsilano’s Meatball Eating Competition.

Taking place on July 9, this year’s competition will consist of three two-minute heats, with the winner of each heat advancing to the final round to compete for the Trattoria Meatball Eating Champion title.

When all is said and done, the first place winner will receive a Glowbal Group Meatball Champion Card, which entitles the winner to a year’s worth of unlimited spaghetti and meatballs at Trattoria Kitsilano. Kids will also have a chance to partake in a tiramisu eating competition without requiring registration for a chance to win an undisclosed special prize.

Aspiring competitors can register to take part in the Trattoria Meatball Eating Competition via email. Trattoria Park Royal will also be holding its own Meatball Eating Competition on July 15 with registration also available via email
