It's officially mid-November and plenty of restaurants and bars across the country are getting into the holiday spirit by way of creative food and drink feature menus.
From Proof's iconic Miracle on 1st Street to a one-weekend-only happening at The Prairie Emporium, here are a few festive pop-ups happening in Calgary this month.
Miracle on 1st Street at Proof (starts Wednesday, Nov. 13)
Arguably the most famous holiday pop-up one can experience in Alberta, Proof's annual festive makeover is once again in full effect for the holiday season. Expect fun drinks, cool glassware and a vibrant decor in addition to a playful food menu. Come early as this pop-up gets packed quick!
Sippin' Santa at Ricardo's Hideaway (starts Saturday, Nov. 16)
If you've never been to this popular holiday pop-up on 17th Avenue, Sippin' Santa could be best described as Santa on a bender in a tropical locale. Expect tiki-ish drinks in quirky ceramic glasswares and a life-size Santa waiting to greet you at the host stand upon entering Ricardo's.
Blue Jay Sessions: Holiday Edition at The Prairie Emporium (Nov. 24-26)
This annual pop-up will see 20+ musicians performing in a cozy holiday-themed room in support of Community Kitchen Program of Calgary. The Prairie Emporium's vintage holiday glass collection makes drinks like mulled wine, spiked apple cider and rum 'n' nog feel extra festive. If you're craving a cheese ball for one, just like grandma used to make, the throwback food menu has definitely got you covered.
(If you're wanting a taste of this holiday event's feature menu before next weekend, you can swing by this Friday night for the TPE Holiday Mingler from 5 p.m. to late to try the festive eats and drinks at discounted prices.)
