Cast rumours for Top Chef Season 20 have been making the rounds on Reddit for quite some time now, but today the confirmed lineup of 16 competitors was officially unveiled.
What's especially exciting for Canadian fans is that two Top Chef Canada winners will be competing on Top Chef Season 20. Dale Mackay (Season 1 winner) and Nicole Gomes (Season 3 and winner of Top Chef Canada All-Stars) will cook off against 14 other chefs from international franchies such as Top Chef Brazil, Top Chef Italy and more.
Mackay and Gomes have both gone on to appear on other Food Network Canada series such as Firemasters. In particular, Nicole Gomes is no stranger to American food television, having cooked her way to the runner-up spot on Iron Chef Gauntlet Season 2 (2018), and she also beat Bobby Flay on his popular namesake competition series back in 2021.
While we won't see Top Chef Canada judges Mijune Pak or Janet Zuccarini on this upcoming season, the show's newly-added judge David Zilber will appear on at least one episode of this special international version of Top Chef.
Top Chef Season 20 premieres on Thursday, March 9, on Bravo with longer-than-usual epsiodes running 1 hour and 15 minutes (with commercials). No word yet on when it will air in Canada, but we can likely expect it the same air dates and times via Food Network Canada.
