Keri Adams is the host of CTV Morning Live Vancouver, but more than that, she’s a single mom of two daughters and juggler of life who gets to learn new things, eat food, talk to interesting people and laugh a lot for a living. An award-winning journalist, who has covered stories, interviews, breaking news and elections for nearly 20 years, Adam starts her day as early as 3 a.m. but does not miss a beat. (Hey, you've got to be pretty sharp for Whoopi Goldberg to say you're funny.) So, we want to know where she goes to treat herself to good food in one of the best culinary cities in Canada.
Breakfast
[I eat] on my morning show set or in bed; preferably, but rarely, the latter.
Lunch
The VAG (don’t get excited, it’s what we call the Vancouver Art Gallery around here). It has a pretty garden patio overlooking Robson Square.
Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House is a must if you come to Vancouver. Again, hit the garden patio if weather permits. Enjoy anything seafood. The iceberg wedge is yummy. And, I’m a big open-faced steak sandwich girl, so go for that.
Also, try the Cactus Club at Coal Harbour for the incredible ocean and mountain views. After that, take a couple of selfies at the Olympic Cauldron.
Dinner
There are so many to choose from, but I like the little hole-in-the wall places and I gravitate towards Gastown.
Tuc Craft Kitchen is my favourite. Go for the friendly service, pork belly crackling and the crispy bacon and egg. It’s just a bite, but sometimes, that’s all you need!
Go to the Flying Pig in Gastown for the lobster and prawn risotto and the crispy Brussels sprouts. Sit in the lounge; it’s more lively and you can still people watch out the window.
One of my long time favourites is Coast, on Alberni. Go for the fish and chips and also the chance to see someone famous.
Carderos is also an awesome spot because the steaks are delicious and my autograph is on the chalk wall, sandwiched between Wayne Gretzky's and Goldie Hawn's. Boom!
Drinks
Go to Reflections at the Hotel Georgia for summer drinks outdoors, comfy couches, good music, and a ladies room that isn’t too far from the action.
And, The Parlour in Yaletown, for the people watching.
