At the onset of the pandemic, Quebec-based culinary community La Tablée des Chefs set out to orchestrate the largest solidarity food preparation in the history of Canada, aspiring to produce 1,600,000 ready-to-go meals for the Food Banks of Quebec.
Since then, their Les Cuisine Solidaires initiative has caught on in a big way. It has gone on to garner participation from more than 100 chefs from across the province, producing more than 2 million meals to date.
With the holiday season fast approaching and Canadians looking to support local businesses more than ever, La Tablée des Chefs just launched two gourmet, chef-curated gift boxes to provide both Quebec and Ontario residents with another avenue to support their cause.
Each basket includes a cookbook from one of the initiative's participating chefs, one cooking utensil, one Tablée des Chefs apron, and an assortment of sweet and savoury treats crafted by a selection of celebrated chefs in Quebec City, Montreal, and Toronto.
A full list of participating chefs for both the Quebec region and Toronto can be found online. All profits from the sale of the Holiday Solidarity Gift Baskets will be used to finance La Tablée des Chefs’ programs, including ongoing collaborations with Second Harvest.
