After months of anticipation and some big changes behind the scenes, Toronto’s acclaimed The Drake Hotel announced this week that its new 32-room expansion project will officially open to the public on December 1.
Linked to the historic Queen Street West landmark via multiple adjoining floors, the new Modern Wing expansion will offer a creative blend of historic and contemporary lobby, meeting, and event spaces, along with a polished steel boxcar-inspired rooftop level suite and a street-facing bar.
“We are excited to open our doors and invite everyone to experience a tactile treat–a localized and immersive experience for the senses,” says Drake Hotel creative director Joyce Lo. “We believe that the Modern Wing will be a canvas for diverse expressions of local and international art and design.”
In addition to more than doubling the total number of guest rooms on offer, the boutique hotel’s five-storey expansion will also feature a variety of unique artworks curated by The Drake’s in-house design and art teams in collaboration with Diamond Schmitt Architects and DesignAgency.
Advance bookings for The Drake Hotel’s Modern Wing expansion can currently be made online.
