Famed Calgary-based retailer Knifewear has long been a favourite of hospitality professionals and home cooks alike. With locations in Edmonton, Vancouver and Ottawa as well, it has been slowly, but surely increasing its presence across the country.
The latest addition to the Knifewear family is a bricks and mortar shop in Toronto, which just opened this past weekend to plenty of buzz in the city.
Located at 517 Bloor St, the new Knifewear location operates daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Just like its other locations, boasts an array of Japanese-made knives, interesting books as well as all sorts of other kitchen tools, cutting boards and more.
After a couple weeks of soft opening, Knifewear will also be throwing an official grand opening party on Saturday June 17 all day long.
Members of the 700-year-old knifemaking company Moritaka Hamono, a popular line carried by the retail store chain, will be in attendance. The representatives will be discussing their unique approach to making knives and also offering a limited number of engravements on their knives on a first-come-first-served basis.
Knifewear Toronto is located at 517 Bloor St. and open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information on its grand opening bash and more, follow Knifewear on Instagram: @knifewear.
