After months in the renovation process (and presumable city permit delays), celebrated Winnipeg chef, Scott Bagshaw, will open his newest restaurant, Passero--located inside of The Forks Market--on December 2nd. Preceded by Maque, Enoteca and (the late) Deseo Bistro, this newest addition is housed in an open concept interior and will feature Italian cooking through and through, with dishes like scallop crudo with lomo and lemon oil, salt-roasted beets with accents like pistachio butter, blood orange and salsa verde, and of course, plenty of house pastas, including a garganelle with duck ragout.
In addition to the main dining area, there will also be sandwiches, simple salads and espresso available in a small fast-casual section of the restaurant.
Bagshaw's eatery is just one of the buzzworthy new restaurants to open in The Forks Market, as wood-fired, food truck turned bricks and mortar spot, The Red Ember, also set-up shop inside the historic space a couple of months ago.
