It's likely been a hot minute since most Calgarians have stepped foot inside of a Jack Astor's, so many may not know that its long-standing Calgary location on Macleod Trail shuttered last year. Sitting vacant for quite some time, a new restaurant is now being constructed in its former space.
Tomahawk Kitchen + Bar looks like it's shaping up to be an Alberta beef-centric eatery and it is promising a spring 2022 opening. There's not a ton of information available online just yet, but it does list some classic steakhouse menu items on its in-progress website like beef carpaccio, lobster thermidor and, of course, tomahawk steak.
